Starting with Windows 10 April 2018 Update, Microsoft Edge has a Dark Mode that you can turn on. In this way, the title bar, open tabs, and menus in Microsoft Edge turn from gray and white to black. Also, the text you see in menus and other places changes from black to white. Here’s how to turn Dark Mode on in Microsoft Edge:

How to turn on the Dark Mode in Microsoft Edge

Open Microsoft Edge and click the “Settings & Others” button in the upper right corner. You can get the same result by simultaneously pressing the ALT and X keys on the keyboard. In the menu that opens, go to Settings.

In the list of settings, see Customize. There is a list called “Choose a Mode”. The default value is the Light Mode. Click on it and choose the Dark Mode.

Immediately you will see how the Microsoft Edge window darkens.

Click anywhere outside the settings and you’re done.

How to turn off the Dark Mode in Microsoft Edge

If you’re tired of the fact that Microsoft Edge is always dark and you want to be white and gray again, you can quickly turn off the dark mode. To do this, follow the steps in the previous section of this guide. Once you click the Customize list, choose Light instead of Dark.

Microsoft Edge returns to its light mode, with the white and gray look. Click anywhere outside the settings and you’re done.
