2. Atom
GitHub are the ones who created the Atom publisher, and that can say it all. In fact, they have said that Atom is the “text editor for the 21st Century”.
A unique thing, Atom is the customizable editor as the developer wishes, but unfortunately, it is currently only available on Mac from version 10.8 but promises to be available in Windows in the near future as well on Linux. Atom is a very versatile text editor that can be used to write any code, not just web. It’s free, it resembles incredibly much with Sublime Text (which is not free) and has a lot of features, and if a function is not present, be sure there is a plugin that does the job.
3. UltraEdit
Probably one of the best-selling and most popular text editors is UltraEdit, being a text editor and PHP editor, making it ideal for more advanced programmers. UltraEdit is available for free for a short period of time, but if you want to benefit from this program forever, you need to take it out of your pocket. TextEdit is a text editor, as its name suggests, created by Apple, and can only be obtained by purchasing a NeXT package from Apple Inc. Being an app created by Apple, it can only be used on the Mac OS.
6. Brackets
Brackets is an open-source text editor and provides support for both HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, with emphasis on development. It’s also a program created by Adobe Systems licensed by MIT. Brackets can be used on both Windows and Linux or Mac.
